New to Windows 8 Development, but curious to see what the buzz is about? In this presentation we'll kick it off by helping you get your development environment up & running quickly. We'll also review some tips for existing iOS and Android developers working in the Windows 8 world. We'll show some ways to maximize code reuse between Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 apps, followed by a review of the Application Lifecycle, and a look at Windows 8 navigation patterns. Next, we'll do a bit of a deep dive into the fun world of Windows 8 Live Tiles, including flip, iconic, cycle, and secondary tiles. Finally, we'll discuss hardware sensor integration and see a demo of a Windows 8 Store App that utilizes some of these features.

The Cleveland Azure Special Interest Group (Azure SIG) (formerly the Cleveland .NET SIG) was founded in a partnership between Bennett Adelson and Microsoft 20 years ago. The SIG has become the forum for Azure collaboration and instruction from some of the brightest minds in the region. The organization was founded to provide enterprise customers and community with educational support on the Azure cloud platform. The group meetings consist of architecture and implementation focused, content-rich presentations and interactive discussions with demos.
